Overview

The HND Computing course is open to all those who have a passion for the way computer systems work and view the world. HND Computing provides aspiring programmers with a comprehensive grounding in computer science and software development. Programmers need to understand principles that apply to all programming languages. This program provides a technical foundation into software development, computer hardware and networking.

Course structure

CAS has devised and formulated the course structure of HND Computing, which is a 2 years program in four semesters keeping in view the overall program requirements, pre-requisites and is different specialisation routes as below:

Core textbooks – These textbooks provide students with key resources to develop their knowledge and understanding of the core units of their BTEC Higher National qualification. They contain selections from market leading textbooks that are used on Higher Education programmes worldwide, specifically chosen to cover the learning outcomes of students core units.

Assessment and grading

Learners will be awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction qualification grade depending on the points gained through the successful achievement of individual units.

Unit Points per credit : (P) Pass: 4 (M) Merit: 6 (D) Distinction: 8

Points range Grade : (P) Pass: 420-599

(D) Distinction: 840+

Entry requirements

  • GCE Advanced Level qualified by a grade of C and above
  • qualification equivalent to Level 3 in any related subject
  • Higher Education Certificate
  • GCSE qualified or equivalent in English and Mathematics
  • Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy

Progression

Qualified candidates may progress to Level 6 entry to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Business at a UK University
